Trial Accounts in Scrive eSign
In Scrive eSign, users can sign up for a Free Trial account to explore the features of the platform.
Trial Account vs. Organization Account
If and when a user signs up for a Trial Account, they are not automatically associated with any organization, even if their company is already using Scrive. Instead, they are placed in their own “Trial organization,” which is entirely separate from any existing company associations.
Trial Accounts have several limitations compared to full organizational accounts. Key restrictions include:
No access to Templates: Trial users cannot create, use, or share templates with their organization.
Isolated document access: Trial users can only access their own documents. They cannot view documents shared within the organization, and organizational admins cannot view the trial user’s documents.
Excluded from organization dashboards: Trial users do not appear in the organization's dashboard or usage statistics.
Permanent data loss upon deletion: If a Trial Account is deleted, all documents within it are permanently lost and cannot be recovered—even by organizational admins.
No Single Sign-On (SSO) support: Trial users cannot log in using their organization's SSO, which may present a security concern.
This can cause issues if a user signs up for a Trial Account using their company email, as they may later need to be integrated into their organization's Scrive account.
Recommended Action for Existing Customers
If you are part of an existing Scrive customer organization, we recommend you avoid signing up for a Trial Account. Instead, please contact your organization's admin, as outlined in our Getting Started Guide, for assistance.
Solving Trial Account Integration Issues
If you have already created a Trial Account using your company email, your organization's Admins can invite you to integrate your Trial Account into the organization. Here’s how:
The Admin can send an invitation to your email.
You’ll receive an email with an option to Transfer Your Account to the Invitation Organization.
By accepting the invitation, your Trial Account will be moved to your organization in Scrive.
All associated documents and data will be transferred along with your account.
