Add or request attachments

When setting up a document for signing, you have the option of adding as well as requesting one or multiple attachments.

The attachment options can be found under the Settings tab when you set up a New process or Template.

Add attachment

You can choose to upload a PDF attachment or include one that you have previously stored in your E-archive. Added attachments will be visible to all parties. Once you have added the attachment, you can make the following settings:

  • Attachment name: set which name should be displayed for the attachment in the document process.

  • Required to review: if you set this as optional, the parties can themselves choose if they want to open and read the attachment or not. If you set this field as mandatory, all parties need to open the attachment before they can complete the process.

  • Merge: this setting allows you to decide if the attachment should be merged with the original PDF that you have uploaded, or not.

    If you choose to merge the attachment, it will look like it is part of the signed document and each page will be marked with the Scrive sealing watermark.

    If you choose to keep the attachment separate from the original PDF it will stay secluded in the process. A separate attachment will not receive the Scrive sealing watermark.

Request attachment

If you would like a party to upload an attachment in order to complete the process, you can choose to request an attachment from them. When doing so, you have the option of making the following settings:

  • Attachment title: choose what you want to name the attachment that you are requesting from the party.

  • Description: here you can add a description for the attachment that you are requesting, for instance what and why you are asking for this.

  • Required to upload: with this setting you can decide if it should be optional or mandatory for the party to upload the requested attachment.

  • Merge: this setting allows you to decide if the attachment should be merged with the original PDF that you uploaded for the document process. It will then look like the attachment is part of the signed document. Or, you can choose to leave the attachment separate from the original PDF and it will stay in the process as a secluded attachment.

  • Request from: this is where you choose which party who is requested to upload an attachment.
