Authentication to view, sign and view archived documents

When configuring a document process, you have the option to impose an authentication requirement for your parties. This ensures that parties must verify their identity before they can view or access an archived document, and must sign the document with an eID.

  • View: Authentication is necessary to open and read the document upon invitation.

  • Sign: Authentication is required to sign the document.

  • Archived: Authentication is required to access the document once it is sealed and archived.

    • Note:

Even if authentication is required for the archived document, signatories can still view it without authentication via their personal e-archive if they have a Scrive account.

Additionally, Admins within the author's user group can still access the document in their e-archive.

If you choose the 'No extra authentication' setting, the party won't need to verify their identity to view, open the archived document, or sign the document.
